Jesse Mineo (b. 1989) is a Sicilian-American and Puerto Rican interdisciplinary artist living and working in Queens, New York. He holds a BFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Mineo’s practice incorporates lens-based media, assemblage and installation, sound and lighting design. His work often centers on personal history, sense memory, tradition, iconography, identity and the digital experience. His work marvels at the unseen ways strangers are intimately connected through space and time. He is often motivated by a need to interrogate the ways social, political, and economic systems shape identity, shared cultures and traditions, human settlements, and the natural environment.
