Jesse Mineo (b. 1989) is a Sicilian-American and Nuyorican interdisciplinary artist living and working in Queens, New York. He holds a BFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Mineo’s practice incorporates assemblage, lens-based media, sound and lighting design, mark making and creative writing. His work centers on personal history, memory and dreams to interrogate the impacts social, political and economic systems have on identity, shared cultures and traditions, human settlements and the natural environment. He has worked at the forefront of digital imaging technology, contributing to professional engineering/education/sales with companies such as Canon, Sony and RED Digital Cinema. As a creative technologist, this experience deeply informs his practice. It propels him to scruitize technology’s impact on our lived experiences in an effort to inspire a healthier way forward for humanity.
